2025–2027 Incremental-Capacity-Cycle
On 7 July 2025 the fifth cycle to identify incremental capacity to be created will begin. Until 1 September 2025, the transmission system operators will receive non-binding demand indications from participants requesting additional capacity at THE-cross-border points. If both the capacity requests and the fees to be paid in accordance with Article 26(11) of Regulation (EU) 2017/459 are received on time, the capacity requests are analyzed and the results published in market demand reports.
Important deadlines for the fourth incremental capacity cycle starting in 2025:
| 7 July 2025 | Start of the period for non-binding demand indications and charging of the corresponding fees submitted by participants on time |
| 1 September 2025 | Deadline for non-binding demand indications by participants to be taken into account for the ongoing process |
| 27 October 2025 | Publication of reports on market demand analysis on the basis of non-binding demand indications received in good time during the ongoing process |
| 20 January 2026 | Publication of project proposals |
| 5 May 2027 | Publication of the offer levels for the annual auction |
| 5 July 2027 | Start of the annual auctions of the new capacities to be created, followed by an economic test (as necessary) |
